Arctic Security Field Seminars
Arctic Security Field Seminars (AFS) promote and advance Arctic awareness and understanding of Arctic defense issues among Allies and partners by placing them in the U.S. Arctic, a challenging and unique environment unfamiliar to most other Arctic nations.

AFS will create informed and engaged leaders who can contribute to Arctic security, understanding of the changing operational environment, and understanding of Indigenous operations and culture in the Arctic. By experiencing the Arctic firsthand and learning from local communities, participants can develop a deeper appreciation for the region’s importance, implications for defense issues, and complexities while contributing to better-informed decision-making and policies in the Arctic domain.
