DoD SkillBridge Program
The Ted Stevens Center proudly participates in the Department of Defense SkillBridge program, which provides active-duty service members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience during their final 180 days of service.
SkillBridge participants at the Stevens Center work alongside our team on research, policy, and program development that supports Arctic security and defense.
- Who can apply: Active-duty service members within 180 days of separation who meet their Service’s eligibility criteria.

Military Fellows
The Stevens Center hosts Arctic Military Fellows—mid- to senior-level officers from the U.S. armed services—who bring operational experience and strategic insight to our programs while earning an advanced degree through the University of Alaska.
Fellows contribute to research, teach and mentor in academic programs, and help shape strategic discussions on Arctic defense and security.
